Miss Kittin’s Calling from the Stars sees the international star showcasing two distinct sides to her sound. The first half sees her on fine dance –pop form with the likes of addictive lead single ‘Bassline’  and a cover of REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ before CD2 takes her in a more minimal techno-orientated direction, reminding us that Hervé is also a highly respected DJ.

Moussu T aka Tatou is the founder member of legendary Marseille reggae band Massilia Sound System but over several albums with Lei Jovents – Artemis is their fifth – he has followed his muse down a different path, one combining pop with Mediterranean blues, and singing in both French and Occitan. Artemis, released today, is the group’s most bluesy album to date, and also the one with the strongest acoustic feel, but the songs remain anchored in the landscape of Marseille –  the ocean, the port – and the characters inhabiting it.

Emel Mathlouti (Tunisia)

Emel Mathlouti is a Tunisian artist, influenced by classical, latin american or rock music as well as Arabic singing. She created her first rock band at the age of 15 and never stopped singing since then. It’s only in 2004 that she started writing in Tunisian in order to communicate feelings such as nostalgia, anger, sadness, love or delusion. Collaborators include prestigious names of the musical scene such as Tricky or Charlie Couture. Emel is one of these singers that really come to life on stage, and that’s the reason why she’s been touring all over the world in the past few years. Her debut album ‘Kelmti Horra” was released in February in the UK.

Feloche (France)
With his voodoo mandolin, Féloche keeps driving all over France with Léa Bulle (acordeon-trumpet-samples) and Christophe Malherbe (double bass) to promote his electro-cajun music. His first solo album “La Vie Cajun” was released in 2010 . As a former member of the famous Russian band VV (Vopli Vidopliassova), this virtuoso is also the producer and member of Pantin, a quirky electronic duo. Be sure to be there on time to see his performance, Féloche is definitely a don’t miss !

Pop folk Parisien duo Singtank are definitely a 2012 “Don’t Miss”. They played with French bands We Were Evergreen and Revolver at HMV Next Big Thing during the Oui Love night on February 8th and it was awesome. Nellee Hooper (Massive Attack, Björk, U2, Madonna) and Alan O’Connell (Placebo, Gossip) are two of the band’s idols and have now produced their album, due to be released in early 2012. And the band has served up a delicious sample of their teamwork on a digital EP The Party  which is already out.

You’ve probably heard one of their amazingly fresh anthems these last days and maybe you’re starting to wonder who exactly are Django Django. The East London 4-men band whose name seems so familiar and so full of potential appeared 3 years ago on the net but they chose to disappear right away and take their time to prepare this self-titled new album, released on January 30th with French label Because Music. After a successful in-store concert at Rough Trade East in London on February 1st, Django Django are about to tour the UK.
